Dr Astrid kylstra

Let us tell you a little bit

about ourselves…

Dr Astrid Kylstra

I graduated from the University of Qld with first class honours in 1993. I started off my professional life in Canberra for 3 years before discovering the beautiful Northern Beaches of Sydney. Since then, I have been living and working in the Northern Beaches for over 20 years, 14 of these at the same practice in Manly. Then I began my adventure of opening my own practice here in Avalon.

I am passionate about dental health and helping people achieve their dental goals. As a mother,I am aware of the importance of making the first dental experience of little ones as fun and comfortable as possible. I love treating kids, and have enjoyed watching my patients grow into healthy young adults who have always enjoyed coming to the dentist.

I am very interested in the growing trend of Minimal Intervention Dentistry which concentrates on diagnosing any decay early before it gets to the point of needing a filling, and focusing on establishing proper oral hygiene routines and diet and lifestyle choices.

I am also very interested in finding the right way for YOU, as an individual, to improve your smile. There are many options available and I am happy to discuss these with you.

Another special interest I have is in Snoring and Sleep Apnea. We can provide a snoring solution that will not only improve your long term health, but also possibly your marriage!!

My patients have told me that I make them feel at ease, and I am proud to say that I have converted many “dentaphobics” into loyal patients over the years… You know who you are!!☺

I am a member of the ADA (Australian Dental Association), the IAPD (International Association of Pediatric Dentistry), and the Manly-Warringah Dental Study group and enjoy keeping up to date with modern opinions in order to provide my patients with the best possible treatment.

When I am not elbow deep in teeth, I am enjoying the Bilgola lifestyle with my two lovely daughters.

If you see me up at the school my daughters attend, please feel free to ask me any tooth-related question. I love talking about teeth!!

Dr Mary Clayton

Formally known as Dr Mary Clayton, Mary prefers to be referred to as Dr Molly Clayton.

"I completed my undergraduate study at the University of Sydney before graduating first in class & with distinction from Dentistry at Charles Sturt University.

I thoroughly enjoy dentistry, but not as much as I enjoy my patients. I am a very relaxed, outgoing personality, and I believe this combined with my passion towards oral health makes for an excellent experience for my patients.

I believe in educating people fully about the causes of dental diseases and their general health as most issues are so easily prevented & this also allows people to understand their treatment & why preventative recalls are so important.

There are no treatments I do not enjoy doing & I believe having well rounded skills in cleaning, fillings, root canals, crowns & extractions is beneficial for myself and patients as it allows for their whole treatment to usually be completed by the same practitioner and builds trust and continuity.

I am a member of the Australian Dental Association, the Australian Society of Endontology and regularly attend study groups and continuing education courses.

When I’m not giving people a hard time about their oral health, I enjoy keeping fit and active, cooking and spending time with my husband and my two beautiful girls.”
